Welcome to Day 12...
Woke up early this morning...crazy early...like 2:52 am early.
Here's the thing,I rarely have a problem falling asleep, it's the staying asleep part I'm not so good at.
So I when I wake up in the middle of the night I go through my usual routine...
Not looking at the clock.
Not trying to think about anything.
Willing myself to fall back asleep.
Then I peek at the clock.
Then my brain starts firing up all sorts of ideas...actual dialogue or plot development or scene building.
Then I start thinking this is good stuff I really need to get it all down.
Next thing you know I'm making my way in the dark to my computer.
I do honestly wish I was a better sleeper
But, two and a half hours later I had...
Updated my author profile on amazon.com. Check it out here... Maggie Collins Author Page @ Amazon.com I already had an established page but I linked my other books, my main blog Synchronicity, added my Twitter feed and updated my profile. Creating an author page is easy...just go to Amazon's Author Central to set one up.
Also, remember my Maggie Collins Marketing Compound I talked about in Day 5? It's about having all my marketing efforts connected and having a shared purpose. Well I also added a new tool to the effort....
Twitter...I had set up an account weeks ago but hadn't really done much with it. All that changed before the sun came up today...starting with a post promoting 365 Days of Writing, Marketing & E-Publishing.
So...now you can follow me on twitter @Authormaggie and keep an eye out for #busywriterslife
I also did a Facebook post promoting Deadly Shadows.
Ended up being a very productive middle of the night? Early morning? Anyway lots got done...
And since I was off from my day job today, I ended up having a much deserved lunch date with my wonderful husband. Not just any lunch date...
It was lunch with a view...
Sun, breeze, beautiful view, great food, a fun drink...It was a beyond great and definitely a much deserved break after a busy week.
But not quite done for the day...Before I fall asleep tonight, I'm hoping to get a little writing in on the new scene I'm working on...
Though my Southern Living Magazine and the lounge chair on my deck is calling.
So let's close the work week with Today's Takeaway Lesson...
"Goals are dreams with deadlines." So dream big and then execute well and often...
Here's to Being All In,
Maggie
BTW...Sleep is important - 8 hrs is optimal - one day maybe I'll get there. Read all about the benefits of a good night's sleep( better memory, more creativity, longevity) here.
And...Here's an new blog that was posted yesterday in Synchronicity. Read on...
