Welcome to Day 81 & Day 16 of our Writing Challenge.
Today is all about editing, but so far I haven't had a chance to get much done. Though the night is still young...more on that tomorrow...
So here's a question...how much time do you spend on you?
Your dreams, your passions, your best you?
My hashtag on twitter is #busywriterslife. And on any given day it sure is.
I work full time at a demanding job, I have a busy home life, an aging mom, a twenty something, and 2 teens, one of whom has special needs.
The truth is, most weeks all I know is busy.
I spend my days doing, fixing, supporting, organizing, helping, cheering and working all geared towards the needs of others. And honestly I do love it. That's because my family, my friends and my co-workers mean the world to me.
Over the years I've gotten very good at saying yes to everyone.
Then a few years ago I decided to start saying Yes to ME.
Beginning with jumping in the deep end on a dream of mine...writing my first book.
Completing the first book, led to writing and finishing the second, then the third, then the fourth and now I'm well into my fifth.
Writing, even on those days when it seems impossibly hard, is my happy place.
It's my golf, my knitting, my running and any other national favorite past time you can think of, all rolled into one.
I deserve this kind of happy and the chance to explore, pursue and yes even work my a** off completely for me ( and now my readers).
I have big dreams and goals for completing more novels...gaining more recognition and achieving bigger and better book sales...
And to think it all started with saying a simple yes.
I think YOU should say YES to YOU today!
