Welcome to Day 83...
Well it's Day 18 of our Writing Challenge and we're more than half way through the month.
Keep writing, keep editing, keep moving. I did an hour of editing today. A bit light for a Saturday but my #busywriterslife prevailed - lots of running around with the kids and a much over-do yoga class for me.
Speaking of yoga...when I arrived at class today I was about to grab one of the blue mats from the basket. I always take blue - not sure why, I just do. But when I was reaching for it, a thought about a recent Seinfeld episode crossed my mind.
The episode is called The Opposite. In it, George Constanza is complaining about his life and how nothing turns out the way he wants. That's when he decides to stop making the same choices he always makes and to instead start choosing the opposite. He begins doing this with all the day to day choices he makes - the type of food he orders, how he approaches woman etc and it all ends with great results.
So maybe we need to take a page from George and rethink how we do things...the little things...the big things.
I'm always looking to up my game and for ways to make my life better.
Maybe it's time to go out there and be a little rebellious, a little contrarian and start making some opposite choices.
BTW...I stopped myself from taking the blue yoga mat and I went all in for the neon orange one...surprisingly I had a great day.
Here's more on thoughts on George choosing the opposite...
And...Today's Takeaway Lesson...
"When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balanced courses of action you should take - choose the bolder..” William Slim
