Welcome to Day 352...And a
powerful two letter word.
Anytime we're faced with a
problem or a goal, there are two possible routes to take.
To Think or to Do.
And while both have merits, one
option will get you realizing your dreams and goals a whole lot quicker.
Let me explain.
Yes, it's important to have big
dreams and to think through a game plan. It's also helps to write out your long
term goal and then to break it down into manageable tasks.
But the secret to getting real
results comes not from the thinking, but from the doing.
In short, achieving goals is
a direct result of our level of activity.
I admit I spend a lot of
time thinking about my writing. In my head I'm scripting
plot lines, playing with dialogue, and imagining exciting locales.
But I try and Do more.
Because it's not enough to
simply want something or to continually think about your next steps. Which is
why I make darn sure that those plot lines get written into chapters and that
dialogue gets mixed into into working scenes.
Bottom line - think some, but do
more.
