Day 357...Mental Rules For Writers to Live By Part II

Welcome to Day 357...And mental rules for writers to live by. Part II

After reading an article in an on-line health and fitness blog that was titled 10 Rules Fit Woman Live By,  yesterday I shared my take on what smart writers do to make their writing journey successful.

Here are the rest of those rules...

Picture Your Success
Positive thoughts lead to positive outcome and there is great power in process of visualization. Set a picture or story of success in your mind. Make it as real as possible with specific details and then replay it often throughout your day.

Plan Your Writing Time
Just as you schedule all the things that make up your busy day - your work projects, your meals, your work outs – make sure you’re slotting writing time too.  As I always say, it’s a #busywriterslife. And even more so for those of us who not only have a full time job but also a full slate of responsibilities as a wife or husband or mom or dad.
Make sure you take control of the hours in your day and make time to write. Everyday. And take that writing time one step farther – preplan what scene you’ll work on and how much time or what work count goal you’ll achieve.

Don't Give Yourself a Way to Opt Out
Your writing time has to be a non-negotiable slot in your day. Whether it’s first thing in the morning, during a lunch break or at night when the house gets quiet. And while it’s inevitable that everyday won’t go smoothly and that life will interrupt your plans – an unexpected phone call, an illness, working late on the job – the key is to move through your day focused and determined to stay on track.

Believe It & Become It
I recently read a book that focused manifesting your dreams. The book focused on the importance of positive visualization of your goals, as well as the other two factors that have a huge impact on making your dreams a reality – action and feeling.  Turning thoughts into action through the power of doing and adding positive emotions and feelings to your visualizations. To make your dreams a reality, stamp out all fear and feelings of discouragement or inadequacy.
