Welcome to Day 264...
And building the perfect website.
Let's start off by saying, perfect is a relative term, but a great website for writers should have the right stuff. So let's get started...
The Right Domain Name
Your writing business is all about you. So to make it easy for folks to search and find you. Which means having your name incorporated into your domain name is key. But what if you have a common name and it's not available to use as a domain name? Then do an add on - like JaneDoeWriter.com or JaneDoeAuthor.com...you get the picture.
The Right Home Page
Your home page is the main page visitors will land on. It should be a brief summary page of all things that are "writer you"...highlighting your books, what's new, upcoming events, upcoming releases etc, even a welcome statement
The Right About Me Page
Which should include a short bio, a head shot, links to a contact email address and links to ways to connect with you on social media - Twitter, facebook,
The Right Books Page
This should include the covers of your releases, brief teasers on the books, links to landing page where readers can read an excerpt and...a link to purchase
The Right Blog Page
A page that opens directly to your current blog and don't forget to keep your readers coming back for more with updated blog posts
