Welcome to Day 18...
In case you're new to 365 Days of Writing Marketing & E-Publishing, here's the drill...I post my goals on Monday and then by Thursday of each week, I like to do a check in to see how things are going.
I hope you're doing the same, so let's review our respective lists...

In Day 16, I wrote a lot about the importance of connecting with Book Bloggers and how they can help you sell more books. That said, I wanted a way to track my contact with them and any follow up responses I get, so I created this spreadsheet to do just that. The spread sheet is actually much larger with columns listing the links to the blogs, email contacts, follow up info etc - I can't post the whole thing, but here's a peek...
Book Requested | Date | ||
Blog | Notes | to be Reviewed | Request Sent |
My Overstuffed Bookshelf | Will respond back in 72 hrs
A Novel Review | |||
As the Pages Turn | Fill out form and submit http://www.asthepagesturn.com/p/review-policy.html
Book Binge | |||
Book Obsessed | |||
Book Vixen | fill out form
Brazen Bookworm | accepting only intermittent reviews
Cocktails & Books | Review, review policy - Need to navigate to Manic Readers sign in to request review
The Crimson Inkpot | Complete Form
Deep in the Heart Romance | Does not do reviews but does do promos on books |
It took extra time to set up the spreadsheet, but it gives me everything I need in one simple place. Crafting a compelling query email to send the bloggers is also taking some time, but once I've finished, I'll use that draft over and over again to send out to dozens of bloggers.
For me automating efforts is key. With limited time to spend, it means I can work faster and do a better job on everything I need to do.
For now it's time to get back to writing and marketing.
So here's Today's Takeaway Lesson...
The #busywriterslife means there's always something on your to-do list. Find tools (I maximize things spreadsheets and Google docs) to automate your efforts so you can get more things done...done well...and...done in less time.
BTW...Don't forget... I need some help designing my next book cover...Go to Synchronicity or http://www.maggiecollins.net/ now to vote for the best cover picture!
Here's to Being All In,
Maggie
