Welcome to Day 129...
While getting my ankle checked at the doctor's office yesterday, I read a good article on journalist and television personality Meredith Vieira.
There's no denying she's had one heck of a career. First as a journalist, then as a correspondent on 60 Minutes, next as a co-host on The View, then as a co-anchor on the Today show, while also hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and now she just started hosting her own talk show.
Interestingly enough, along the way she's walked away from many of these sweet gigs at the height of her popularity. She did so, in most cases to spend more time with her family.
And yet in each case, she found her next job and re-entered the market even bigger and better.
So what's the secret of Ms Vieira's stellar success?
Well in her own words, here's her own rule..."Work hard, There are no short-cuts to success, and it's so much sweeter when you earn it."
Friend and and Today weatherman Al Roker, describes her this way “She makes things look easy, and we all know that’s the mark of somebody who works hard.”
It doesn't matter what line of work you're in. Hard work matters. So much so that even if you go off the radar for a while, it's the thing that folks in your industry or your readers or fans will remember and reward you for.
So on your road to success, dig in. The time, the effort and all the hard work really do matter.
Today's Takeaway Lesson says it all...
Here's to Being All In,
