A bit late on the post - more internet problems last night. A cable crew came out last night and again this morning and looks like we're up and running again so...
Welcome to Day 127...
Today let's talk about space. Important spaces, sanctuaries, havens, places to write and create.
Where you write is important, but keep in mind, it doesn't have to be quiet like a monastery or the room in the furthest corner of the house. It just has to work for you.
My space is on on the main floor, in a nook that is surrounded by the kitchen and a family room. It's family central. It's quiet at 4:30 am, my prime writing time, but not so much after dinner, when the house is bustling and loud. But even in those not so quiet moments, it works for me.
But that's not my only go- to place. Just off the kitchen, on our deck and when the weather is just right, you'll find me here...
These are my spaces. Where I'm inspired. Focused. Where, I know I mean business about my work.
But the truth is, I can really write anywhere.
The library, my mom's house (which is incredibly quiet and distraction-free), I've written in the car while waiting for my son to finish practice, on airplanes...you get point.
So while you're writing space is important, also make sure you're open to being creative and productive just about anywhere and anytime. (If you don't have your laptop, keep a notebook handy)
Because...the more you work, the more you write and...the faster your novel will be completed.
