Welcome to Day 176...
I get that it can be good to try new things. Sometimes switching up your routine gives you a new perspective, a new energy and can lead to better results.
And sometimes it can all go wrong.
At least that's what was happening to me around the holidays. I decided to give the early morning writing routine a break and try and sleep in a bit. The plan was to write at night instead.
How did things fare?
Okay, an epic fail might be an exaggeration, but I just couldn't get into a good groove on this new schedule and my writing output suffered.
So, I'm back to my old tricks.
Since last week, I've been up before 5 am when I head straight write to the computer. An hour and a half later it's like I've hit jack pot. More scenes finished, more new scenes started and more structured ideas.
Simply put my a.m. schedule gives me more...more...more.
I haven't given up on new ways...If you find one that works, stay with it and make it your own.
If not, do more than let it go. Find your way back (quickly) to those routines...the best time, the best place, the best method that worked in the first place.
Here's Today's Takeaway Lesson...
"If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." MLK
Here's to Being All In,
