Welcome to Day 181...
And some thoughts on Seattle Seahawks QB, Russell Wilson. Or as I like to call him the atypical quarterback
At just under 6 foot, he is the league's shortest quarterback...
Known as a rushing quarterback, (most QBs throw the pass or hand it off to a running back) Wilson does whatever he has to do to make the play and that includes rushing for over 800 yards so far this season - the highest total for a QB since 2006.
And...he's also one of only two black quarterbacks to ever win the Super Bowl.
Simply put, there's nothing typical about this guy.
"...he's a guy who is just able to make plays. He just might not make them in the traditional quarterback ways all the time," says Seahawks' TE Luke Wilson
As writers, we can learn a lesson from Russell Wilson...
We may not have a regular career in writing...I was an English major in college but went on to work in business, took time off to raise my kids, still raising the kids and went back to work and decided one day to write a book...4 books later I'm almost done with my 5th...
We may not have ever attended a writer's workshop...That would be a NO for me.
And we may be part of a writers' group or have an agent. Again, NO and NO.
But we can still work our way to success. How?
Sometimes it's not about your education or your background or who you know. Sometimes it's just being the hardest working one in the proverbial room. The one who wants it more.
And sometimes, pardon the cliche, it's about taking the road less traveled and simply working our a**es off.
That's just what I know.
Here's Today's Takeaway Lesson...
