Welcome to Day 184...
So for those of us in the Hudson Valley and the NYC metropolitan area, the epic storm of the century wasn't the least bit epic or even much of a weather event at all.
Based on predictions of historic snowfalls mixed with dangerous winds from the National Weather Service, states of emergencies were declared, major bridges and subways were shut down and New York State came to a virtual stand still.
As the storm headed out far east to Long Island and coastal Massachusetts, this morning most folks woke up wondering...what happened?
So yes the meteorologists got it wrong and now that's the big story for today. But there's something else coming out of all this...
Two words that always make a difference.
I'm sorry.
Here's what Gary Szatkowski, a senior National Weather Service forecaster released earlier today...
"You made a lot of tough decisions expecting us to get it right, and we didn't. Once again, I'm sorry."
For me I say...Apology Accepted.
I'm a big fan of accountability. Those two words matter. In fact, I'm sure there are some entertainers, media big wigs and politicians who could learn a lesson from the weatherman.
Here's to Being All In,
Maggie
